that relate to that word.
I am a second generation
San Diegian and have spent most of my life in La Jolla and Del Mar,
California. I have lived for short periods in Europe and Mexico; visited
Australia, South East Asia, and have traveled extensively in the United
States. In the late 1960's I ventured into the fields of Architecture
and Construction Development. I joined the military in the early 1970's
and after three years was honorably discharged. After that I began a
life-long career in the Communicating Arts industry. From childhood
I have also been a Fine Artist and have worked in numerous media.
I have a very strong "Company-man" attitude of enthusiasm
with the time and energy to express it. For over twenty five years I
have worked in a multiplicity of media areas and have found that my
greatest skill is in supporting teams of people who design and produce
media projects. During those years I developed skills in the fields
of advertising, publishing, computer graphics, multimedia,
internet development, television production
and the production of live events with the goal
of bridging these communication mediums into educational, entertaining
and interactive e-commerce products, services and businesses all through
the use of Information Architecture. I have taught
Communicating Arts in many schools from Stanford University to the University
of Southern California, San Diego with many additional self-produced
seminars and conferences of my own on Computer
Garphics and Information Architecture.
Through my own DBA business, INVIEW,
I now do Information Architecture for Web
site development that is brand driven and user-centric. I also design,
produce, and manage the print and multiple-media projects related to
the web sites I have developed. INVIEW has access to a network of individuals
who have interdisciplinary talents and skills within the Communicating
Arts Industry.
Click here for my CURRENT 2012
client list and samples of current INVIEW
projects.

I have over the last 20 years been an instructor of traditional graphic
arts and Information Architecture at schools such as Palomar College,
San Marcos, and University of California, San Diego. I have taught computer
graphic arts for The American Institute of Graphic Arts, Hands On Software
Training, Inc., The Center for Electronic Arts, and The Graphic Arts
Institute. I have also taught workshops on computer graphics through
INVIEW. I have lectured at San Diego State and Stanford Universities.
I was a member of the Commercial Art Advisory Committee of The San Diego
Community College District and taught Information Architecture for the
San Diego Community College District’s New Media Center.
I was a member of the American Institute of Graphic
Arts, San Diego from 1988 to 2000 and was also a member of the AIGA,
San Francisco chapter from 1992 to 1994, While in San Francisco I was
a founding member of a trade association called the Multimedia Development
Group of San Francisco and was a member of their Education Committee.
During my first 3 years of membership with AIGA, San Diego I founded
and was the first Chairperson of the New Technologies Committee and
the ECOgraphics Committee. In 1988, I produced an AIGA computer graphic
arts workshop called LAYERS '88. This event included a trade show with
presentations by local businesses and a dinner with many forms of computer
based musical edutainment. Over 200 of the premier Graphic Artists of
San Diego, many of whom had never touched a computer, attended this
event and have since become trend setters in the Industry. I was also
the founder and the first Chairperson of the New Technologies Advisory
Council for AIGA, National. In 1998 I designed and produced a 10 year
anniversary event called LAYERS '98 for AIGA, San Diego that educated
over 200 business people about Information Architecture. It was documented
on video and was cable cast live during the event to three other remote
locations to include an additional 150 people. It had a web site to
promote the event and register attendees. The event included a trade
show, presentations of computer projects by the Alumni of LAYERS '88,
a show of LAYERS '88 Alumni computer Fine Art produced over those 10
years, and many forms of multimedia edutainment.
I have produced many other live events (42 total) and many television
documentaries about the Arts and Artists of San Diego and Los Angeles
(31 total).
In past years, I have been an active member
of the Advisory Committee for the San Diego Children’s Museum,
co-founder of the Del Mar Public Access Cable television station, co-founder
of the Community Television Association and chairman of its Television
Advisory Board, co-founder/board member of Sirius, a non-profit all-media
cooperative and past Chairperson for COVA, and founder and Executive
Director of Arts Park, an intercity public arts organization.
I have received numerous awards and acknowledgments for my participation
in shaping the design industry and continue to participate extensively
with a network of cutting edge professionals who are helping to define
and develop the Communicating Arts industry.

My Information Architecture Statement of Professionalism:
It is my belief that the work of an Information Architect is presented
in reports that incorporate the analysis of sociological, psychological,
and technological marketing information. These facts must be summarized
and presented in a logical and understandable way through articulate
documents that have been augmented for clarity with charts, graphs,
site maps and flow diagrams. These documents accurately express the
strategic market and profit-driven goals of the client’s business
model as it is applied to a particular project. This blueprint, when
presented to the client, must not only meet the client’s immediate
needs and hit the target market in terms of profitable sales; it must
